TALO-A2000 Series Preview: AI Inference and Local Video Recording on One NVIDIA Jetson Orin Platform

The upcoming TALO-A2000 Series combines NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX/Nano computing, up to eight PoE+ camera ports and four SATA drive bays in one edge system, so AI inference and continuous local recording can run on the same device.

Custom vision AI deployments often split these workloads between an edge AI computer and a separate NVR or storage appliance. The A2200 is designed to bring them together, and runs the NVIDIA Jetson software stack, including JetPack and DeepStream, for developers deploying their own models.

01 | Three Configurations, Different System Roles

Albatron is developing the TALO-A2000 Series around NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX/Nano, with three platform configurations designed for different camera and storage requirements. The A2200 is the configuration that adds both camera ports and storage. Explore TALO-A2000 Series →

Video retention becomes a design consideration when footage needs to be kept for incident review, traceability, or later analysis. For applications that need local recording, the A2200 combines camera connectivity and storage in one platform.

Eight cameras recording continuously at 4 Mbps each generate approximately 346 GB of video per day. With 4 × 4 TB drives in RAID 10, the theoretical usable capacity is 8 TB, enough to retain a theoretical 23 days of footage.

Cameras84 Mbps each
Storage8 TB4 × 4 TB, RAID 10 usable
Retention~23 daysExample calculation

This assumes 24-hour continuous recording at a constant average bitrate, before filesystem overhead and reserved capacity. Actual retention varies with resolution, codec, scene activity and RAID level. The platform supports RAID 0/1/5/10.

The TALO-A2200 is still in development. If you have a project that needs this combination of camera ports and local storage, contact our team → with your camera count, bitrate, and retention target.
